With no online class and no rain today, I went into the backyard for a reconnaissance mission (and to destroy dandelions, of course). The back border garden is so weedy that I wondered what happened.
Then I saw that sedum and daffodils were growing in odd places. I remembered that my dear neighbor Wanda had been playing in my garden last year and, after pulling weeds (chives and leeks), spread the soil around with a rake. She must have broken up some roots and stirred them about in the process.
So Job 1 is to figure out how much mulch I’m going to need before I start digging in the back garden.
