My best friend, whom I’ve known since we were five, called me this evening after my house guests were safely gone and La Casa de Tontería looked somewhat normal again. (And the water pipe that was flooding her bathroom was fixed – oh, boy!)
As usual, we talked about our hopes for this new year. We didn’t make resolutions per se, but talked about “course adjustments.” Just as a navigator plots courses to avoid shoals, we anticipate complications.
The more complications life throws at us, the more important it is to live simply.
More on that tomorrow.
